Russia’s Oldest Charity Golf Tournament to Be Held for the 27th time

On June 3, the Moscow Country Club (affiliate of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia) will host the 27th International Charity Golf Tournament. Golf enthusiasts, foreign diplomats, Russian politicians, businessmen and businesswomen will step out onto Russia’s first-ever 18-hole championship golf course to raise funds to help children suffering from serious diseases. This year it will be an anniversary tournament as the new golf season was the thirtieth for the Moscow Country Club.

The International Charity Golf Tournament is the oldest tournament in Russia, which is held annually on the occasion of the Children’s Day. Since 1996, it has been a prestigious sporting event and an effective charity mechanism. For over 25 years of its history, the participants have donated more than RUB 100,000,000 to charitable foundations.

The tournament gathers famous athletes, actors, actresses, performers and public figures representing charity foundations. The opening ceremony will be hosted by Aleksandra Rebenok, a Russian theater and film actress, TV presenter, leading actress of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater and the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. This year, the funds will be sent to the Khabensky Foundation, the Important People and the Lighthouse foundations, as well as to the Vera Hospice Charity Fund.

On the day of the tournament, the Moscow Country Club will arrange a great festival of family, childhood and a healthy lifestyle. The celebration will open with physical exercises offered by Olympic champions in synchronized swimming Maria Shurochkina and Vlada Chigireva and Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Anastasia Tatareva who will be available to guests in the lecture hall to tell about their sports careers. Children and their parents will be able to watch a theatrical performance and listen to interactive lectures. Young guests will try themselves in different occupations in KidZania, play board games, take creative and educational master classes or visit mosaic, painting or pottery workshops to step into shoes of real restorers. Throughout the day, the main stage will host pop singers, including Hannah, Asiya, Dragni, AMCHI, Nechaev, etc.

The open-air sports festival will also feature mini golf and pétanque games, river boat trips and other outdoor activities.

The guests will be offered to taste products from farms of the Moscow Region or treats from the chef of the Moscow Country Club.
